Title: Turn A Corner In The Night
Fandom: Thor (Movies), The Avengers (2012)
Pairing: Thor/Loki
Rating: NC-17
Words: 11500
Summary:I
will be Loki’s champion,” says Thor. His voice rings through the great
hall, regal and bold, every inch a king in bearing. Every inch a fool.

Thanos’ lips curl back from wide teeth, a grotesque mockery of a grin. “So be it.”

A/N: For this prompt on norsekink, where “Thor fights Thanos to avenge Loki; Thor is the strongest.”

❤  Read on AO3!  ❤

peardita:

past me: canon is sacred I must carefully fact-check everything to make sure it is canon-compliant

present me: canon is a box of scraps in a cave I’m gonna tear that shit apart throw away 90% of it and out of the good bits build something absolutely beautiful and amazing

Need a safety net after Infinity War? Just want some wholesome Thorki fluff?

Then this fic is for you! ❤

Title: Home Is Not A Place
Pairing: Thor / Loki
Rating: NC-17
Summary: Asgard is not a place, it is a people, Thor had said of
their lost home, over the course of their voyage.

And when Loki, eyes red-rimmed and dark, haunted by shadows for far too long,
said, “Home? Perhaps I never had one,” Thor can make only one assurance that
soothes the tumult in his brother’s heart: Home is not a place, but a person.

That person could be me.

A/N: Post-Ragnarok AU. Ignores the appearance of Thanos’ ship at the end
of Thor: Ragnarok, and the Infinity War storyline altogether. Inspired by this
gifset here.

❤  Read on AO3!  ❤

not super heavy on spoilers but

just a couple thoughts under the Read More to be safe:

EDIT: I’ve since heard that the Read More isn’t working on Tumblr
mobile app, despite multiple HTML fiddlings, so the actual spoilery bit
is marked with “Spoilers Below”.

part of me wants to curl into some romantic dramas like a warm blanket, and pretend the first 10-15 minutes of Infinity War never happened.

the other part of me staunchly refuses to accept Infinity War as canon, but instead as an offshoot AU that some rando wrote, and that some rich peeps had the money to turn into a movie.  whereupon i shrug and say “eh, i’ve read better”.

i refuse to let IW take away what happiness Thor 3 brought back. REFUSE. >:c

SPOILER BELOW:

(i could go into what a waste of potential in Loki’s character they’ve made, because wow, that was the most cheap and quick and disrespectful death i’ve ever seen, but that’s for another–perhaps longer–entry. i find it hard to believe Loki didn’t have some kind of plan, because Thanos and Co were leaving the ship by then–why, specifically, would Loki call attention to himself, only to hit Thanos with a piddly dagger attack? i mean, come on.

knowing Marvel, though, they probably just want us to take it at face value: “yup he dead now”.)

(also, whose bright idea was it to tug the gauntlet off Thanos’ arm? just do like alexander and the gordian knot and hack/laser it off with his hand still in it. URGH.)

But, TL;DR :

Post-Ragnarok fic recs

I have been so impressed and grateful for all the Thor fandom writers these past few months. With just a few days until Infinity War, here are some of my favorite Post-Ragnarok fics. (Mostly Thor/Loki plus one Loki/Valkyrie)

The Trickster Series by FiveStillAlive ( @runnerfivestillalive )

This series gives me life. This version of Loki has so much freedom and positive energy. This story builds a wonderful little world in which Loki gets to zip in and out of New Asgard in his spaceship. There’s some occasional angst and trauma, but FiveStillAlive is a genius at happy endings, and the trickster always gets the last word. Thor/Loki primarily, with some very fun polyamory

Vows on a Dagger by triedunture ( @stuffimgoingtohellfor )

This story actually begins with A True Shape, a wonderful little story that takes place during their time on Sakaar. It just grows and grows from there. This Loki is deeply serious, but capable of so much more love than he previously thought. This story will break your heart at least twice, but then it will rebuild it with its tenderness. Plus throw in a few very well-written OCs, and Thor and Loki as parents. Thor/Loki

As I Lay Sleeping by @saltandlimes

This story starts after The Dark World, but continues through to Post-Ragnarok in canon. This has one of my favorite tropes – platonic co-sleeping turning into something more. This story really leans into the angst of Thor thinking Loki is dead and Loki being lonely while pretending to be Odin. And I love the way it fills in the gaps from canon, e.g. what Thor was doing between Age of Ultron and Rangarok, and Loki and Korg on the Statesman on the way to Asgard. Thor/Loki

Home Is Not a Place by @eyeus

This is another story that is so sweet it warms you from the inside out. Early in the story Loki explains to Thor his (not-so-imagined) slights, and Thor takes them to heart and puts in real effort to repair their relationship. This story is a brilliant exploration of what it means to repent and forgive, not just in words, but in actions. Also a very well-written Valkyrie. (This is a WIP, but it’s being updated regularly.) Thor/Loki

Hair by @foundlingmother

Short but oh so sweet. Loki comes out as genderfluid to Thor after Ragnarok. Thor is a big old puppy who loves Loki, whether he has a sister or a brother. Thor/Loki, could be read as platonic

New Rules by @kafkian

This story starts out by making you laugh, and then ends with such deep and honest love. Another platonic co-sleeping leading to more. The Asgardians think they’re sleeping together, but it’s not like that! These brothers protest too much. Featuring Loki the poet. Thor/Loki

Sanctuary by CharlotteLennox

This is a rare non-Thorki story that I can’t stop thinking about. Despite that, the brothers’ relationship is a central part of the story. Valkyrie is so well-written, I’m falling for her too, reading this story. This story is an angsty WIP, but I have hopes for a happy ending. Loki/Valkyrie

If I liked or commented on your story and didn’t include it above, blame my truly terrible memory! I’m sure I loved it at the time, and send me a message to remind me about it!

Thank you for the fic rec for Home Is Not A Place! I’m happy you enjoyed it so much that you’d recommend it to others! :’o
