Peacefic.

pervocracy:

I want to pioneer a new* genre of fanfiction: the peacefic.

Peacefic simply follows characters through a day or week when everything goes fine.  Buffy goes to school and hangs out with her friends and goes on a quiet patrol; the Enterprise charts a new planet and finds it to be an entirely lovely place; the Doctor and Rose visit an era, enjoy the local color, and leave without any unexpected difficulty.

It may not make for great storytelling, but I feel like it would be extremely therapeutic.

*if this hasn’t already been thought of, which it probably has

I love Peacefic! The kind where no one is slain by arrows, bitten by zombies, or led to believe someone is in love with them, when–surprise!!–they get together with someone else. >:c

A/N: For this prompt on Meme of Interest, where “Reese and Finch have to share a hotel room and a bed” and misunderstandings follow. Title from We’ve Got Tonight, inspired by the Kenny Rogers and Sheena Easton version.

Sometimes, keeping it simple works best.

Fic: A Lifetime For A Day

Title: A Lifetime For A Day
Fandom: Person of Interest
Pairing: Reese/ Finch
Rating: PG-13
Words: 9400
Summary: Bakery AU.

“Your Danishes appear dry, over-flaked, and uninspired,” the man informs him. “I don’t doubt the rest of your creations are in the same vein.”

John blinks. This is new; no one’s ever eviscerated him quite like this before.

A/N: Inspired by descendingspiral’s post here, of “Baker!John trying to woo the elusive customer with the glasses and nice suits every morning with pastry goodness”.

The bakery John is assigned to work in is based loosely on the Sugar Sweet Sunshine Bakery in New York, and also the real-life location where Harold is filmed first testing the Machine. The snippet of the song is from Josh Groban’s Sincera (A+, would recommend for Rinch feels). Title is from Sugarland’s Tonight.

A lifetime for a day would be an even trade.

On 2.21 Zero Day (or, Dad has the best lines ever)

While watching Zero Day, some of the most random thoughts from dad:

On the opening sequence: “OMG WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE MACHINE wait NO the file you downloaded must be corrupt. DOWNLOAD ANOTHER ONE >:O”

On the initial exchange between Finch and Root: “So Root threatened to hurt John to make Harold go with her, right?” (“No, dad, she threatened to hurt Grace. You must be thinking of Sherlock.” ) “(continues on as if hasn’t heard) Yeah. She totally threatened to hurt John because Harold wouldn’t go with her for anything less.”

Dad secretly ships Rinch.

On “When I care about someone, I put a tracking device on them.”: *giggles* “Hehehe John cares about Harold.”

Dad not-so-secretly ships Rinch.

And on an entirely unrelated note, dad upon watching Iron Man: “OMG HOW SHERLOCK HOLME BECOME IRON MAN? Oh. Must be time travel, like that British show you watch.”
